Help! Ordering and replacing the battery seat of a MM Stingray (2001)

Hi there...

I have some troubles with oxide on contacts of the battery in my MM stingray (2001).

I'm trying with some anti-oxide products, but I think it's late (the contacts have lost their gold film).. Is it possible to order the plastic battery seat so I can replace it? Other suggestion?

Im sure a CS rep will help you out on this. If no replacement is avaliable i would suggest you use a little dielectric grease on the contacts. It will help prevent oxide build-up and create a good contact.

Just a suggestion,Ive used it on my active basses for years now without any problems. The best solution is if the bass is stored for a long peroid of time is to remove the battery to prevent battery seepage.

hey kirby, where did you find the battery box? How to replace? You had to cut the wire? How to attach the new?

Hope someone of the MM staff can help me, I don't want to search for not original stuff..

a friend of mine said I should have replaced the box immediatly, and I could have damaged my pickups. Is it true?
