Original Hard Case?

I've recently noticed that some Musicman's have different hard cases to mine and was wondering if this had been bought as a replacement before I bought the guitar.

Looks like one of the earlier G&G hardcases that used to come with Music Man guitars. They switched over to the SKB case in the early-2000's, I believe.

Do you know what year your guitar was made?

Yeh, I agree. My 1998 Morse has exact the same case as this and all my later EBMM are in the 'plastic' SKB style. The original case is smaller overall size too than the SKB newer styles.
My 2000 ASS is in the SKB style so that the end of century swap over seems right

Both are fine cases though and do the job

Baz, did the case for your '98 Morse have a little G&G emblem over the compartment cover? I bought a MM G&G case off ebay for an Axis that I used to have and it had a G&G emblem on the inside:

Yes, GoKart, that is the same as mine. Little press stud tab pulls to open the lid of the little accessory chamber where the badge is.


Modern SKB just has the open areas for other bits. That can be a pain as sometimes I open the case angled against a wall and odd bits then fall out.
Should do it on the floor I guess but in the old case none of the bits can fly anywhere cos they are locked in the llittle chamber

Mine is a 1999 Musicman although I don't have that inside the case?

I spot checked ebay just now for some older Music Mans (EVHs) that came with the G&G case and some had the emblem and some didn't. Who knows.

Perhaps the emblem just came off over the byears. But you do have the little lidded storage chamber right ?

Yeah there is a lid'd storage part in the case.

I think the case must be original as it only seems to fit shorter guitars and not others like strats and teles
