Question Original Majesty line: Chrome hardware vs Black hardware. What's the deal?

In looking at pictures of the original line of Majesties, I've noticed that some models have chrome hardware and some have black hardware. I thought I read once that there was a re-release of the original line, but I can't find anything about it anymore. Does anyone have more info about this? FWIW I prefer the models with black hardware.

The color of the hardware is chosen usually based on the finish of the guitar. The Petrucci line was simplified, along with many other lines. The JP6 with the deep cutaway was the closest to the original, but I don't know if they plan to make that guitar anymore. Also, it should be noted that as Petrucci himself made changes to the pickups he used and such, those changes were carried over to the guitars.

The same has been true for the Steve Lukather guitars. Usually you'll only see returns to the "original" configuration for anniversary issues.

Nevermind, I ended up figuring it out. Turns out the original Majesty line got re-released in 2018 with stealth black hardware due to finish issues with the chrome on the 2014 line. Looks like only a few colors from the 2014 line got this treatment though.
