Yes, I've got one. I like it a lot. I got a pretty good price on mine when it first came out. The tap tempo button is nice to have as a built in, and it runs off of a wall wart, so no batteries. Most importantly, it sounds the bomb, and it isn't noisy. My TC Electronic SCF is also really quiet.

Hey Rob,

Yeah, as a matter of fact I did try out the Nova Delay pedal as well as the Eventide Time Factor pedal.

I went straight in the front, not in the loop. I personally didn't care for them. But, probably because I unfairly judge all effects in comparison to my Eventide Harmonizer H3000 D/SE (I'm spoiled).

I was looking for the highest quality delay "pedal" I could find for my non-rack set up.

The pedal I selected to fit this space is a "Damage Control Time Line Delay Pedal" (two 12AX7 tubes drive this unit). I will however run this through my loop.

Hello there Rob,

I have one and I really like it. Very adjustable (some say almost too much), but this allows you experiment a lot and dial in and save lots of different delay textures.

Personally, my favourite features of the Nova Delay are:

- the colour dial, which enables you to adjust the delay sound from tape to analog to digital and variations in between,
- the modulation effects (three levels, and each is adjustable) are excellent,
- the dynamic delay setting, which is a "ducking" feature that mutes the delay so it only kicks in when you pause or stop playing - very nice for adding atmosphere to solos,
- there are 9 user programmable presets available,
- the dotted 8ths setting (if you want to do some U2 type stuff),
- the reverse delay setting (which can be 100% wet, so all you get are the reverse notes).

The sound quality is excellent, and it does not alter your tone at all, IMHO. Some have found it adds a bit of white noise, but I have had no such problems.

It requires 12vdc @ 300ma and comes with its own wallwart - just so you know you can't use your typical power supply for it.

The only downside I have found is that you can't recall and display the settings for saved presets - rather a silly flaw considering how well this things is engineered. The key is to be sure to write things down before you save - or do as I do and just live dangerously, and leave things to fate and experimentation!

I would recommend it highly, particularly if you really enjoy tweaking.

Cheers,

Jbert

P.S. If you do a search in the Effects section of The Gear Page, you'll find lots of useful info on the Nova Delay, but be careful - this too can become very addictive!

Rob, I have the Nova Delay and I absolutely love it. If I recall correctly, you're using a Mesa right? If you're using the amps gain, you'll wanna run the pedal in the effects loop because out front it gets muddy and sounds bad. But in the loop its amazing. Its honestly the best sounding delay I've ever owned and played. The feature to have 10 presets is nice as well (9 actual presets, 1 manual). The quality of the delays is superb which is to be expected with TC's products. If you're thinking of getting one, I would, it won't disappoint. I have some crazy U2 presets saved in mine along with some JP presets as well. Another cool thing is the Audio Tapping and the modulation. All in all the pedal sounds great. If you have any more questions about it feel free to ask.

Yeah, it seems like a great pedal from what I've read. Glad to hear that a good number of people here seem to like it. It'll be a lot more expensive than my Lexicon Alex, which I got for oh...about $70 including shipping, but hey...it's like a 2290 in a stomp box, I guess. :D

They're incredible pedals, trust me. I think the modulation in the pedal alone is worth the price. I'm only running it in mono, but I bet in stereo it sounds huge, just like the 2290.
