The first solo I ever learned was from "If This Is It" from Huey Lewis and the News......oh wait should I even mention that out loud ? ? ?
Man...you brought back some memories....that solo is actually a GREAT one...he had SUCH a good sense of melody, great tones...you could always "sing" those solos!
Another band that did that was Men at Work...I can remember sitting around on the couch with a Fender Lead III guitar on my lap, watching MTV, and trying to learn those melodic solos....
Oh yeah, Elliot Easton and the Cars, too!!!

I'm in the same boat, found this site, vanderbilly.com. There are quite a few Zeppelin solo that are broken down. The one I'm really liking at the moment is Mother by Pink Floyd. Slow, melodic with nice bends.
