I've been tagged for jury duty tomorrow. I don't know why they keep calling me up for criminal court. My Dad was a career police officer, my uncle was a career police officer and my best friend is a career police officer. No defense attorney is ever going to pick me to be on his jury.

The last time they had me in, the defense attorney asked if anyone would take the word of a police officer over someone elses. When I answered that I certainly would, the judge proceeded to ask me "If a police officer told you that it snowed on Saturday, would you believe him". Being July in Texas and knowing that it was only about 101 here the past Saturday, I had to answer honestly to the judge. I told her "Since I was in Las Vegas last Saturday, I guess that I would have to believe that to be true." After the defense attorney and the rest of the prospective jurors finished laughing, the defense attorney said that he had no further questions and we were dismissed.

I wonder if that judge decided that it might not be such a good idea to act like such a smart ass from then on? I doubt it. :D

Tell 'em the police wouldnt have arrested the person if they weren't guilty. ;)

I was screened for a jury for a DWI case. I'm so sad that they didn't pick me. :( ;) Maybe they could tell I was hung over from last night.

My dad was Chief of Police here before he passed away and my uncle is a retired Oklahoma City police Captain. Once I tell them that they usually don't want me on a jury in a criminal case where a police officer will give a testimony.
