Nice! Ranks right up there with Bing Crosby and David Bowie singing White Christmas. :D

Seriously: Nicely produced. Loved the lyrics.

One of the bands I gig with every now-and-then (two female leads) wants me to learn The Waitresses 'Christmas Wrapping' for the season's festivities...

...actually a very good song that is dependent on the bass line to drive it (I already have it down, so no problem).

The Bongo works excellent for this one; shave the bottom-end 1/4 below flat, and bring up the mids with a dash of high-end.

Randracula,
Me being a Christian have to ask you why you would put a Christmas album out with a parental advisory label on it? I'm not trying to make you mad by any means I just find it very contradicting with the meaning of Christmas and what being a Christian means. With the way the liberal media and the goverment is portraying Christians as a dirty word and taking our rights away little by little I feel I need to speak up about things of this nature. I listened to about 10 seconds of your album before I heard the lyrics about giving a chick two black eyes and then grabbing her tits. There is a time and a place for vulgarity and humor but I beleive it's not on a Christmas album. I take this as a direct slap in the face to Christians everywhere and find it very sad and very disgusting that your band finds this humorous.

Brett,

While I'm sure you have a point, the truth is that Christmas doesn't just belong to Christians. It was Winter Solstice long before Jesus came along, and the I'm just guessing that the pagans wouldn't object to 'dirty' words, and I could be quite wrong there.

The Feast of Isis was celebrated in Babylon long before Christianity was born. It was, I am told, characterized by all manner of gluttonous behavior, probably punctuated by dirty words (guessing) - and then there were the Romans with their Saturnalia. Both of these holidays were celebrated on the 25th of December, by the way, which is an unlikely date for the birth of baby Jesus in any case.

We get the term "Yule" from that old pagan Sun God.

Don't get me wrong - I think Christian celebrations are wonderful and I highly encourage simply everyone to really listen to the Sermon on the Mount, for example.

But I think the post about the Christmas songs contained a warning of sorts that there were words that might refer to naughty bits or something along that line.

If you click it, having read the warning, and let's face it, the internet is a big place, full of things much naughtier than those Christmas songs, then you clicked it in spite of the warning, right?

If I am wrong in my view of this, someone please let me know and I will delete whatever needs to be deleted and we'll move on.

I feel a thread-closure coming on here.

Brett, participating in this forum is a choice that we all have. Just like television, if you don't like the program, you turn the channel.

To berate another Forumite publicly is just wrong (I'm guilty right now)...he didn't twist your arm to go to his band website...you made that choice yourself.

This is not a religious or political or environmental forum...it's a music forum. Plain and simple.

Even here, I don't like using soapbox tactics.

I'm sorry that you feel that way.I didn't put out a Christmas album nor did any band that I was a part of.I was merely a studio musician on a song that was on a Christmas CD put out by the radio station 106.7 KROQ,Los Angeles. The songs in question were not in any way making fun of the birth of Jesus Christ. They were poking fun at Michael Jackson and an area code(909).I'm sure there is material out there that is way more offensive to the meaning of Christmas than the lyrics contained in these songs.Hopefully we can all get past this and remember what we are all here for, our love of Ernie Ball/Musicman products.
Happy Holidays,Randy

Interesting topic. Christmas. We would not have this holiday if it were not for "the annoited one", which is what Christ means. Christ came to earth for one reason, so we all can choose where we will spend eternity. Pagans were just that, pagans, non believers in the one and only God, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. The world is trying to take Christ out of Christmas in so mant ways. Ever see this= Xmas? Jesus said "if you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you." Powerful words, huh? Praise him!

"The addition of Christ to the celebration of the winter solstice did not occur until 300 years after Christ died and as late as 1800, some devout Christian sects, like the Puritans, forbade their members from celebrating Christmas because it was considered a pagan holiday."

Tell you what. Let's call the whole thing off.

I'll lock the thread and....

1. ...if you want to hear naughty Christmas songs, click the link.

2. If you don't want to hear naughty Christmas songs, don't click the link.

And I respect the rights of each one of you to celebrate your faith however you see fit, and if this goes any further, people will continue to argue about it.

You guys are making me earn my moderator pay, aren't you?

Peace.

Jack
