I bet if he was not getting a killing from his endorsement a Luke would do him justice. Thats just my opinion.

And I reckon those F custom shop strats he plays are pretty special - I've said it before, this forum suffers too much from tunnel vision - there is a world beyond EBMM. I appreciate that this forum is for players who love EBMM guitars - I'm one of them, but I don't bitch about other brands or player preferences

my guess is eric could play a uke (not meant to be luke).....and still sound like eric......

ebmm isn't the only company that makes a world class guitar.........BUT.......they ARE far and away the best company i've ever delt with. thier quality , their customer service , their r & d , their design....... their customer service , their bang for the buck......their quality control , their ease of repair , their customer service.......( well you get the idea).
i've played , repaired, and sold guitars in many retail situations for many years . i got my fisrt musicman in 78 or so...& my first ebmm in 88 or so....and have long ago lost count of all the different ones to come & go

as far as brand Bashing.......i would rather not see it myself..........but i'll be the first to poke a little fun at some companys who lend themselves to it....including but i'll do it with respect to the products and their warrants.......

i've worked a few namm shows......& ... it's a crazy buisness
i'm starvin......bye... :D

I dont set out to bash all guitar companies other than EBMM! I just hate Fender thats all! I dont care for their guitars, their dominace on TV, Films and the like, and the fact they seem to be buying every small guitar company and making one huge corporate conglomorate.

I own a whole host of other guitars that I play and love, and would never 'bash' I have an Aria PE, a beutiful Les Paul, a Guild and a Peavey Wolfgang. All superb Axes made by well respected guitar makers. That said, my EBMM's are my favourite and get more play time than any of the others!

I've caught bits and pieces of that show and it's really good. Glad to know that it's on again, must be pledge time. I'll have to catch it again.

I wonder what Dudley and the crew would build for Mr. Clapton???

Whatever Mr Clapton wants, I would imagine. I really like the Clapton mid boost circuit - I fitted one to my strat. Personally, I don't like the V neck on the Clapton model, but it is a nice guitar. regarding the Crossroads concert, is it just me or did Billy Gibbons steal the show right at the end? bearing in mind the lineup - he wailed!

They were great, but I really enjoyed Joe Walsh by himself and with James Taylor - Steamroller, baby - yeah! I also really liked Buddy Guy - what bends, what feel, what soul...

I agree Walsh played well - I wish there had been more of Eric Johnson - I don't think the song they showed was great, but he is one of my favourite players. I thought Claptons sound wasn't great throughout - too dry for my taste. His sound on One More Car was much better. With regards to a Clapton boost circuit on a Sil Spec, I had considered it...
