I took the fam to see a movie at a really nice theater about 40 minutes from where we live (Columbus, OH). After which we ate lunch, and visited a Guitar Center, which is the closest one to me. Last time I went, the didn't have any Markbass stuff, and they had about 4-5 EBMM's. THIS time, they had 2 LMII's, and F1, a 115 cab and a MiniMark, as well as about 10-12 EBMM's, including an SR5 HH that I've been wanting to try (Honeyburst, Rosewood fb, tort.... mmm.mmmm good).

I thought my only amp choice was Ampeg, until I spied the MB gear. Unfortunately, none of the heads were plugged in or hooked up (I found a power cable, but no speaker cable, and I was short on time, otherwise, I woulda fired one up), but the MiniMark was on. Man, I've never played a 2x6 combo before, but that thing was really cool. Alot louder than I would've ever guessed!

Now I have GAS even more for an SR5 HH. It was pretty much everything I was hoping for.... sounded like my SR5 H, but with more versatility (and my fave neck, EVER). After reading horro story after horror story on another forum, and visiting this store before, my expectations were pretty low, but I was pleasantly suprised!

I have had good experiences with GC lately. In the last few months I have noticed that the sales people seem friendier and more helpful than before. Plus, last time I went to the Hollywood GC they had a ton of EBMM guitars and basses. Alot more than when I was there about 4 months before.

I had lots of fun at my local GC today too. I played an SR5 through an SD800 and MB 115. They sounded great.

At the local GC's near me, I still have to take the sales kids to their computers to go online and show them wtf I'm talking about, in most cases. I just dont' understand it. If I worked in a guitar shop & someone asked me if I had this or that in stock, I wouldn't have to consult with a computer to find out. I'd know immediately, because I'd constantly be gawking at them and playing them, and looking at what's coming in the near future, to boot.

Yea, I have noticed a big change at GC lately in my neck of the woods, gone are the lazy bad attitude sales people and the N. Dallas store has a great selection of EBMM guitars and Basses lately, they just got in a SM Y2D.
