hey guys -

i just started buying parts for my first bass hoping to put some money into it and make it usable again ...

anyways - i just got a neck delivered today and was wondering if anyone knew how i could get a random headstock decal on it. the headstock is unfinished so would painting it be a better idea than some sort of sticker? is there a place online where i could order a custom decal or should i just bust out a spray can and some masking tape?

any info or links would be great.

thanks,
Arin

I had one made for a kit bass that I built. I had the guy that stripes our cars here at the dealership make one for me and I put it on before the clearcoat was sprayed on. What do you want on it?

I used to have one of those bogus Fender decals that said "Fuc#er" instead of Fender...may still have it around here somewhere in a box...looked like this dude's T-shirt on the right.

that's awesome! i love it.

The bass and the neck are at my local repair guru now - so a decal will have to wait till ive got it back.

So the background story here is (if anyone cares):
my first bass is some black Epiphone PJ thing that i got in about 92 or so. The poor little bastard has been on its death bed for many, many years and has had no playing time since about 99. so a couple weeks ago i figured id get a new warmoth neck, a badass bridge, new tuners etc and see if i could get it playable again. I had changed the pups to EMGs about 2 years after I got it - they still work but the wiring needs a cleanup.

So the bass in now in the hands of a great local guy and in a week or 2 i should have him back w/ a new neck, redone wiring, new knobs and a badass. I think it should be pretty decent.

this is just another one of those random things im doing to keep my mind off the fact that my HS Sterling is still 3 or 4 months out.

heres a pic of my first bass, the one i wanted to make a headstock decal for. he's now in the shop getting almost all his parts replaced (new neck, bridge, electonics, new tuners) in hopes that he'll become a good little backup :)

thanks for the heads up dude ... i couldnt rightyfully put an MM decal on it tho. + i dont want wonder dog comin after me :)

i think im just gonna hold off on the decal and leave it blank for a while. maybe some day ill grab a marker or some paint and scrible on it or something ... or maybe find a cool sticker. i dont think i have the skills to laquer over a decal and made it look any where near decent.

Speed of lightning, roar of thunder!

Or, I don't know, speed of cable modem, rustle of paperwork.

Doesn't seem as catchy, though.
