One of my other passions (besides playing bass, aviation, sailing and...well, you know) is Formula 1 racing. For those of you who have seen "Cars," that's the series that Guido follows..."the Ferraris".

I try to make the pilgrimage to Indianapolis each year to see the US Grand Prix, and I'm fortunate enough to do it once again this year. I'm leaving at oh-dark-thirty tomorrow morning.

Naturally, I hit the Dealer Locator on the MM website to see if I could check out any basses I've not seen yet while I'm out there.

These guys popped up:

GUITARS & MORE MUSIC CTR $
2220 E COUNTYLINE ROAD S
INDIANAPOLIS , IN 46227-0000

Going to the website, I found, dated 6/3/06:

GUITARS & MORE In Indy Has Now Closed Its Doors!
Look for our sales on Ebay. ID: guitars.cc

Sucks, because they show good stock.

The EBMM mothership/home office should know about this stuff, methinks.....

Yeah, they closed up shop a few weeks ago. I didn't make it over to the closing sale.

The local GC is right across the street, and they always have a very nice selection of MM basses. They sold their 30th Anniv Stingray the first day they had it. The Indy GC has always been top notch with good inventory, good sales staff and a nice atmosphere. Send me a PM if you think you might be stopping in, maybe I can swing by.

There are two other decent size stores right around the corner. The local SA often has several used Stingrays.

I was invited to go to the F1 race, but I'm out of town Sunday for a gig. I'll be around all day Friday and Saturday.

That makes it VERY difficult for a store to stay in business. We have a GC here in town less than 2 miles away that does a ton of business, and has a superb location compared to ours. It certainly isn't easy having them here, but hey, we're doin OK for the time being.

Thanks for the info, Todd...i spotted that 30th on the GC inventory list and was looking forward to checking it out....bummer.

The thursday/friday/saturday activities surrounding the F1 race are actually really cool. Thursday is free, and you get to walk around in the pit lane. Friday/Saturday are cheap ($20? for both days) and you get to see most of the cool stuff from anywhere you care to sit..i.e. the cars at full speed, support races, etc. It's a pretty good deal, in fact, if you're into that sort of thing.

We have been in contact with Guitars and More the whole time. I have been to both locations in Indy on the Scion tour. I have kept them on our online inventory in case the owner has a piece in stock someone asks for....
