So yesterday was a strange day - one of those days that really reminds you how small the world is.

The day started off by me waking to my phone ringing. It was Maureen Herman, the bassist for the old school, awesome band, Babes in Toyland. That's kinda normal cuz we're good friends - but the day went on.

So i get up, get ready, toss on my Rancid shirt and head to work. A few hours later we're off to Togo's to get a sandwich and I run into Lars Frederiksen, vocalist and guitarist for Rancid. Pretty random. he saw my tshirt and said "hi" so we talked for a bit. a guy i was kinda in a band w/ in HS has played in many of Lars' side projects & also played lead guitar in The Translplants which "shrank" the world a tad more. that was a pretty rad trip for lunch. :)

Then i get to work and Michael Urbano's there... hes a badass drummer who's done stints w/ Smash Mouth, Cake, Sheryl Crow and other. Also in the office was my buddy Dan from the Seatle punk band The Breifs - who are awesome. he's just moved to the bay area so we hang out and see tons of punk shows together.

So anyways... the day goes on and I end up catching my friends' band, Swicthblade Riot - they're awesome! they're the one's that hooked us up with teh Hell Cat CD release gig.

Bla bla... after their set i cruise over to the "smoking hole" at the bar/club and run into Adam, the drummer for AFI. We also have a couple friends in common so we chatted up for a bit. He's a super nice guy too.

Anywho... it was just one of those random days. Being around awesome musicians, some friends, some "icons" in my little bay area punk world.

good times...

Tuesday has way too much to live up to...

Phatty,

Must have been Musician Monday all around. Got to catch up with Ed "Frickin'" Friedland and his beautiful wife, Dawn last night at the French Quarter here in Tucson. Was awesome to hear some good musicians going at it.

BP, you've spoilt me. I had their Crawdad Etouffee. Paled in comparison to what was served at Jack's shindig.

Did you ask him how many sheets of toilet paper Sheryl allocates him when they're touring? :)

LOL! I heard about that! My grandma tried to get me to use "one square" when I was a kid. I thought she was crazy...

During the height of the roman empire, it was an insult to offer the left hand.

the toga's had pockets for the left hand for a reason. ;)

Mmmmm, Togo's. I'd kill for a #6. The Togo's in SLO was way too short lived. When I went home for x-mas I had one goal, get to Togo's. The one in Petaluma and Rohnert Park were both out of business.

We have them here in town. I just wanted to bum you out. In fact I think I'll go get a #6 and then write a blog on how good it is.

Ooooo, Togo's!! I was so excited when they put one in SLO too, but it was too good to be true. I took it for granted while it was here and only went a few times.
