Jon,

Called customer support and get a return auth number for my Blue Dawn Sterling. So I'm gonna send her off to you this weekend.

Asia (???) said something on the phone about a body replacement if the crack in the paint it "bad" ... hopefully that's not the case!

Anywho ... givin ya a heads up.

We usually replace the whole body. It is too labor intensive to strip, and refinish a body.

Don't 'spose there's any chance of buying that defective body, is there? Be cool to custom paint a Music Man!

i have a hunch that the repair fee associated with replacing the body is gonna be high ... if jon confirms that then im not gonna send it in.

It's here, safe and sound. I have already ordered the new body, and those dings in the neck will be no problem to take out.

I have a stingray at the shop right now for some work. Have you seen it?

Seen it?? I damn near finished it today! It is on my bench, and I just have to install the ground lug, and it will be ready to ship back to you. I replaced the pots and wired them like the 20th Aniv. models were wired. That is a sweet bass

Jon, I almost never ask you anything about repairs because I figure you get enough of that from people who want to ask you questions about repairs, but did you ever read the thread(s) about removing slight dents/dings from the back of the neck?

The wet towel/iron trick?

Just wondering if you have a different/better method.

I use a wet paper towel and my soldering iron, and then sand the rest out, and you can ask me repair questions anytime......I won't answer them, but you can ask
