Well guys three perscriptions later, and a couple decieving weeks later, my Dad and I went in for another meeting with the doctors to go over the final major tests.

After the past couple weeks of being lead to think that Dads situation would be cured by three new mediciations, we caught a pretty painful blow.

Dad has extensive damage to his heart. The lower back part of his heart, that caused the heart attack is dead. Hearts dont come back to life. They decided another stent or even a pacemaker isnt going to help at this stage, and the board of heart surgeons meets soon to see what surgery may be the best for his situation.

The outcome, at best, is that his hearts level of function will wind up at 60%, which is very frightening.

After today, Im 50 times more pissed at the way his case was handled from begining to end (that stories in another thread).

Ive only seen my Dad cry a handful of times, and that sight today was one that cut to the deepest part of me. I sincerely ask for your prayers and good vibes, during this time.

Thanks guys.

My prayers are out to him, you, and everyone in your family. Hard times, I know. Went through this with my great grandmother. He will handle it though. You of all people know he will. :)

I can not express to you how bad I feel for you and your family. What is amazing and SO FORTUNATE is that your father is still alive. He will need to change some things in his life, as I did after my stroke. Understand that the heart is OVERBUILT for the human body. With life changing choices he should be with you for many more years. God bless you and your family, but particulary your father. Be strong bro....you're up at the plate now for support and strenght.

Definitely thinking about your Dad. Give him my best wishes.

Tucson has some of the best heart facilities in the nation. You ever need a change of scenery, head on out this way.

You and your Dad will continue to be in my prayers. I'm sure your Dad has a lot of added strength having a son like you that is so close, caring and supportive.

Travis ~ Feel free to PM me if you feel like venting outside of the forum...although I'm sure everybody here is more than willing to lend an ear.

Man the things we all take for granted until stuff like this wakes us up.

Good luck and here's hoping your dad gets good care and can still do things he wants for a long time.
