Dirt was the first CD my older sister ever bought, we didn't even have a CD player in the house. Sad to learn his efforts to turn his life around didn't turn out better.
Very sad, we watch Celebrity Rehab in the house, and were hopeful for him. Some of the early reports indicate he may have accidentally overdosed on methadone and anti-anxiety medication, so let's wait and see. His mom was on the show, very sad for her.
That's a shame. I always thought that Mike's lines were creative and that he worked really well with Sean Kinney. AIC was a big band for me in my teenage years, and I listened to their first 3 albums a lot. I know he used other gear than MM, but I thought that he had a great rock tone.
i also watched Mike on Celeb. rehab, it's sad to see ones life sprawled out for others to see. I suppose anything to get the message out to our troubled people is positive in it's own way. Mikes tone and feel was very important in making that early stuff raw sounding. Alice in Chains was awesome, the vibe they set was so dark it's as if it were a gateway to depression if one was not strong of mind. I dug it! RIP Mike!
