My only advice is to make the site more Linux frendly. I can't get your "music" page to work, because I don't have whatever windows pluging it requires. Why not offer a right click download option? Nice looking site, though!

just joking aroung pete. I was in Computer Information Systems for a while in school and one of my professors hated Linux and mentioned it about every other day. I run XP, but am not very pleased with some of the problems I have had with it.

That's very interesting. I'm also checking out the parent site of that article: www.getopenoffice.org - I'm dowloading their open office as I type. I figure it's worth a try.
:)

I use openoffice everyday at work and from home. It will read and write MS documents, as well as excel sheets, and powerpoint presentations. I haven't used MS office in several years, even though its running on my Linux boxes via Codeweavers Crossover Office:

Yeah, I figured you were kidding around. So why did your "professor" hate Linux? Did he hate Unix in gereral, or just Linux? What about the BSDs?

He just hated Unix in general. He was a very bitter old man by the way.

Looks very good Peter. I dig the gear page. Do you have endorsements with all those companies??
nope, but I am doing some demos through the Canadian EBMM guy and have managed to get compensated for that but as for the other gear, it's just the stuff I use and I like.

I think Microsoft got a bad rap a few years back with all of the lawsuits, etc. But they've recently started going after people with a vengeance in some ways that are just over the top. Gates has done well - he's succeeded when others couldn't - so why start biting the hand that feeds you:confused:

There are a number of cases where MS CAUSED others not to succeed because of unfair business practices. Also, while its true that MS has succeeded in making a ****load of money, they have failed to develope good software. MS OSs are patchwork quilts of bad code.

While we're thoroughly off topic, may I ask if anyone here has used that new OS that Sun released? I think it was called "Solaris"? What you guys think about it?
