I'm sorry if I'm not understanding Mark's comment. It sounded a little rude, but maybe it's lost in the translation. Please emphasize.

"First World problem" is a phrase that refers to the fact that we spend a lot of time whinging about things on forums and Facebook etc that are hardly problems in the scheme of things. For example, we complain when the courier driver delivering our new $1500 bass is a day late. We are in fact very lucky compared to most people on the planet.

My comment was not about you, it was about the fact that we (and that includes me) are happy to spend 3 pages talking about whether someone should spend more than a thousand bucks on a brand new bass that has a ding. If that's our biggest problem, then life isn't too bad in the First World, is it? :)

Hey John, I stopped by the other day and looked at it, great bass, naturally the action is, ahem, a little high, but thats no biggie. $1200 is a little aggressive but I think $1300 or so should be doable. I wish they made them with 2 Humbuckers.
I'm pretty sure that's been there for a while, they're nuts if they let you walk, good luck.
I also looked at the 25th GC SR5, I loved the ebony board and dots with rings around them but wasn't to high on the black cherry burst finish. Good luck, Rick

Good luck John. I was real close to picking up a Classic Sr5 in Boston that I fell in love with when a vintage guitar formerly owned by my Grandfather became available. Kinda had to do that. I definitely see one in my future. JOSH

John was the green tag sale in effect when you went in ? It's $100 off anything over $599 and 50% off selected items. the coupon code is green12 good through 3/18. I'd ask for the GM directly and present him or her with your offer.

Got to wonder why he is GM if he won't even call you back and discuss it with you. Maybe it would help if you went in the store and put 12 $100 bills in his hand.

Hmm, I wonder if the salesperson even remembered to tell him about the offer the next day, a lot of GC sales people live in the moment, that's why I agree with you in introducing the GM to 12 Ben Franklins.

bring one or two extra benjamins, just in case. It'd still be worth it.

Well I made an offer of $1200, and the manager said her would have to talk to the GM tomorrow. The best he could do was $1550.

I think a $1200 offer is fair for both parties. After all, there is a big chunk of paint missing. I agree with the others, twelve Benjamins in you hand while talking to the GM should seal a deal.

I talked to one of the mgrs at my GC when I was picking up my 25th and he said that if it were him and his inventory it would be a "done" deal

I paid a little less for a SR5HH that was in good condition but had been at GC for a while and they just wanted to move it out. It depends on how bad you want it but if they won't take 12 for that I would forget it. But that's me.
