You're gonna love the extra string. There's nothing like it, especially on a slower song when you're about to go up to D and think "no, I'm gonna go low this time" and it shakes the whole building.

its true... i dont play slow. thats just due to how i started out. i started playing by learning lots of metal songs so i just started playing fast cuz thats what the bands i was listening to did.

the last few months tho ive slowed down while i practice at home. its wasnt easy at first... id just get bored but ive stuck with it and its a different kind of fun. ive actually lost some of my speed due to this but about 30 minutes of warming gets me back up there. but before i could just grab a bass and go.

whatever really - bass is fun. fast slow, pick, fingers, slap bla bla ill never be famous. i just wanna have a good time

Funny how that went from "slower" to "slow" to "slow and sweet".

I don't think I would play a 5er if I was in the 140bpm-and-up range most of the time. It can be a pain in the a$$ on a 5er, especially without a pick.

I don't think I would play a 5er if I was always in the 140bpm-and-up range most of the time. It can be a pain in the a$$ on a 5er, especially without a pick.

im expanding my herizons dude. no but seriously - ive been stretching beyond punk rock and metal and all that for a lil while now. its fun to have new stuff youve never tried... and a 5 string just adds a ton more to learn into the mix
