Anyway, I was on UG, and somebody posted this:

Heres How it went:

TG: Hello im ringing from total guitar magazine do you mind if i ask you a few questions
Me: No
TG: Do you enjoy reading our magazine
Me: Yes i think it's great
TG: How often do you read it
Me: Im a subscriber
TG: Oh very good, would you mind telling us how old you are
Me: Im 16 (coz i am)
TG: Oh im sorry, we where hoping to inform you that you have won one of our recent competitions but unfortunatley you're not old enough to recieve the prize thankyou for your time
Then they hung up

I nearly smashed the phone on the floor- Just looked through my old magazines the competition was for a £1500 guitar- i'll find pics later if i can be arsed

....but.....**** i was so pissed."
I started scrolling down, and his next post was...

EDIT; I Just re-read the small print, if under 18, you simply have to display that you have full parental concent, im going to write an angry letter....lol

Call and complain man!!!! You paid for the subscription right????? Why shouldn't you have the right to get the prize. Are there nay disclaimers on the competition form?

Hey,

I hope he doesn't lose any sleep over it. It probably was a "scam" phone call!!
Reason being; a legitimate call would have asked his age first.

And, in addition to that, if a company considers you old enough to "pay" for a subscription to their magazine, than he would thus be entilted to the prize!

Call me at my law office!

OHSHI- Freaking brutal. And, as much as I doubt it's a scam, it still sucks mentally to think of losing out on such a fine guitar.
