alright, so today was my first "gig" since getting my 79 natural ray...

played it at church from 8am-10.30am.

did practice, then harp&bull (sic?), then regular worship....

my should is freakin killin me, i thought my 4 inch strap would do better, but it's hurts!

my bass tips the scales at a little over 2 tons (or roughly 13 pounds give or take, i could weigh it, but i don't want to lift it right now).

any suggestions as to a strap for my hugely heavy bass, it sounded so good, and I didn't notice until we stopped, but it whuped me hardcore.

maybe i'm out of shape (been off stage for over a year), but still, comfort is a good thing.

suggestions!

Alright, I warn, you probably won't enjoy this but I've always found that the lower I hang any bass, the easier it is on the shoulders. I suppose it's because it's not being supported by yuor back and just sort of hangs. Also, to be honest, I love my basses good and heavy. I can't wait to own an old school ray.

Maybe just give it a try, just a suggestion. Hope it all works out.

If you wear your bass high go for the Fender neoprene strap, I use that when i play my pimped out squier 5 string, and that thing weighs at least 12lbs. The only bad thing about the strap is that you cant wear you bass low at all, but its real comfortable.

The Comfort Strapp is great. I'm 6'1", and I bought the extra long model. It sits well and not high. I even bought my guitarist one.
