Parcel Post Shipping Across Country...So Annoyed!

Bought an Axis on ebay and they sent it from CA to NY via Parcel Post. WHAT???
It was sent Fri 8/7 and it still did not come today, 8/17.

This blows! I just hope A) it gets here and B) the neck and/or finish are not royally screwed from being subjected to the elements of this extremely long shipping.

Relax, until you receive it, why start worrying!!!

For the most part guitars can handle all the elements, simply because they have several "adjustment" locations built in, and wood typically can fluctuate.

That's why there are many, many guitars from the 60's & 70's that are still in playing condition, and can fetch a big price. Now tell me, have they been exposed to the "elements" over the years/decades?!!

With parcel post and others, it's more of the "abuse" that I am concerned with, not the weather!!!

Well first did you pay for a specific courier to send it, was it free shipping?

if you did not pay for shipping then its up to the shipper, i use the cheapest route when offering free shipping on ebay.

if you did pay for UPS, Fed Ex, etc. then complain to the seller ebay and\or paypal, other wise relax and just wait till it arrives.

I have learned through this one that the Free Shipping thing is not all its cracked up to be. If I buy on ebay again and it has Free Shipping I will make a point to work that out with the seller.

LOL It is annoying I will admit and generally if it is a new guitar from an authorized dealer that offers free shipping it is usually UPS or Fed Ex,but from an individual they will use the least expensive route, I hardly ever offer free shipping on higher nd items, like EBMM but lower value or slow movers you have to.

It came today.

This color is really, really cool. I will definitely have to get outside for some good shots in natural light.
The guitar seems just fine. I almost forgot how fun these things are. Can't wait to play it with the band through the Marshall stack!
