Could I buy a fretless neck from EB (Which I doubt) or could I have a Sterling fretted bass transformed into a fretless bass by an authorized EB dealer?

I have my eye on a used Sterling H and was wondering if I got the dealer to swap out the necks for a blank plank if it was a process that EB supported?

Negative. When you send something to EB to be replaced, it's replaced with the same thing. Maple for maple. Rosewood for rosewood.

You can always scout ebay for a neck.

What Stanky said... fretless conversions are not too hard if you have a guy that knows his stuff (I had an Aria done about 6 years ago and the job was done inside a few days and was beautiful) - but that is a different issue.

yup... the guys are right.

MM will only replace a part with the exact same thing. if someone/you sends in a rosewood board, fretted, sterling neck w/ macthing black headstock they will take the original back, destroy it and replace it with the exact same thing
