Passive models volume

Due to being emailed a few adds from EBMMSG one on the new Sterling Sterling model and one the Tim Commerford Musicman passive model and my general interest in passive..
what is the actual difference in volume (if any) between the active and passive variations of these models say with all controls on max?

Some time ago I modded my 2EQ Sting Ray to passive. I used the circuit for the SUB Sting Ray Bass passive option (2003-2006).

I found little difference between the two.
