Hey all, I have 2 things I wanted some input on. ( pun intended )

1. Finish Issues - On my Silo, which is a '95, the paint is chipping off around the edges of the tremolo cavity ( on the front and back ) and around the edges of the recessed neck plate. It began when I was cleaning the guitar and used a thumbnail to get some dust out of the crevices and the paint flaked off. Is there some product/technique I'm supposed to use to prevent this or is it just brittle from age/environment? I've never regularly used wax/polish on my guitar. Maybe FastFret or an occasional polish. On the positive side, I've always wanted a natural look. Eventually it might come to that whether I want it or not.

2. Wiring Question - I have a DiMarzio Evo I'm going to install in the bridge of my Silo. Currently I have a Vol knob and a LP style ( sorry for the bad language ) 3 way toggle.

Eventually I'll add a DiMarzio Area 58 or Evo in the neck but for the time being my goal is to wire things up as follows:

'bridge' position is standard humbucker mode

'center' is coil tapped bridge humbucker and neck pickup

'Neck' position is just the neck pickup

I nearly over-googled trying to find this particular scenario and have found everything BUT this particular diagram. I know how to wire it with a blade switch or a standard DPDT toggle but the LP-style switch somehow eludes my comprehension. Can anyone help me out?

Sounds like you want the same switching that's in the Petrucci.

For that you'll need to switch pickups and ground one coil from each p'up in center mode. A standard 3-way switch won't work. You'll need a 4PDT switch (12 lugs). You can probably get from from EBMM- same one that's on the Petrucci. While you're at it, ask for a Pet wiring diagram- should be the same for your Silo.

Ok, thanks guys. I was trying to keep it simple and use aswitch I liked the feel of but like the song goes... you can't always get what you want.
