I went to something that sounds similar a few years back...National Guitar Workshop. Its a great experience if you can afford it. Steve Vai came in one day to do a seminar...and i'll never forget the words he said about being in a band, "There's nothing like the friendships you make with the people you play music with."

It's an intense week of learning so be prepared to be overwhelmed.
