I have a 2001 Silhouette Special finished in Pearl Platinum, and I have been told that this is a rare/discontinued colour. I have scowered the tinternet for pictures of other Music Man models finished in this colour and all I have found is one Stingray 5 bass in this colour (I believe the owner posted pics on this forum). Anybody else out there have a Pearl Platinum finished EBMM guitar/bass that they could share pictures off on this thread? :)

Here's my Silo:

If it's from 2001 it's probably the color that was called Gunsmoke Silver. That color was discontinued and they brought back something similar a few years back with the pearl platinum. I've seen one other Silo and Ernie has a JP in that color. If you put your serial number in this thread the folks at EBMM can give you the specifics on it.

I put my serial number on the thread and it's definitely called "Pearl Platinum". I've seen the "Gunsmoke Silver" finish and it definitely looks near enough the same! I guess it must be a shade darker/lighter or something :p

Whoops, sorry for the confusion, I was thinking Sterling Silver... I forgot about Pearl Platinum, I've seen a few Axis Sports in that color. You're right, it's just a bit darker.

Guess it's a rarity then, huh? I like the colour alot, but black pickguard/knobs/p'up covers wouldn't of been my first choice in terms of aesthetics. Twas thinking about getting a mint green pickguard and aged plastic parts :) Otherwise, I love my Silo to death :D

I like the black but I'm a sucker for a mint green pickguard and cream/aged covers, just ask Beej... ;) In almost any conversation that comes up about pickguards that's usually my go-to response. It looks good on just about anything.
