Pedal board help

Hi,

These days I'm completing the assemble of a pedal board.

I have the Silver Dragon and the Route 66 as my distortion and overdrive pedals to give all sorts of sounds, I have the Boss CE5 Chorus and the Digitech Digidelay.

Above these I'm adding the Crybaby 535Q and the Ernieball volume pedal 6166.

What should be the best order to chain these effects?

Here are the guildelines:

I like the Wah Pre EFX which means it comes at the beginning of the chain.
My thoughts are about the EB volume pedal. I'm using its Tuner output to wire to my Boss TU12 tuner.

I'm wonder whether to put the EB pedal as the last one or use my Delay as the last pedal so when I do volume swells with my distortion pedals on, the delay will feedback the swells when I put the volume off.

Is that a good Idea?

Right now the Planned chain is this from right to left:

Digidelay, EB volume, CE5 chorus, Route66, Silver Dragon, Crybaby535Q.


Btw, I use Klotz and George L's patch cables and a Klotz cable from my guitar to the pedalboard and a Dimarzio Cable from the Pedals to the Amp which is a Marshall VS8240.

Typically-
What i do is I run a distortion or overdrive before my wah pedal... so I can have a more aggressive sound to the wah. but here is my complete set-up as of now... it's changed several times but i love this set-up

Guitar or choice-
Planet Waves Chromatic Tuner- Boss DS1- VOX WAH (Comes and goes)- Boss BD2, DigiTech Digital Delay, EBMM Volume Pedal- Modded Peavy valve King

Hey BetaCam
There are no rules - just the general principles that fuzz/distortion and wah go earlier in the chain and modulation and delay later on. Go with what you like - lots of players break the rules and have a great sound.

I would experiment with what sounds best and also consider using the FX loop on your amp (if it has one) for your delay, chorus etc. This can help with noise and signal degradation, although the buffered outputs on your other pedals should help too.

I'm a big George Ls fan too - except for the ones that I put together that don't work...and then it takes me an hour to find out which one is the dud.

the pedals that i mentioned are only what i use now... i've got too many pedals to list and combos that really seem to work well for everything.

How's the Stileto combo like? I hear loads about it lately...
And I heard that on a recent interview with John Petrucci that I had a chance to watch he was using that and I kind of liked the sound that came out of it.

The Stiletto Ace is Ace! It does glassy cleans right through to heavy bark and bite, especially as its got the EL34s (like most Marshalls). To me, it sounds a lot richer and fuller than the Boogie rectifier amps - they're a bit buzzy for me - but I know a lot of people like them (I'm not criticising them - just personal taste).

Thanks about the guitars - its taken a long time to get them and I won't be parting with them in a hurry.

Normally I would run a Wah pre-distortion. The one built in my Line 6 amp ends up being post distortion (as I use a drive pedal) and its does not sound a good as it could. That said, its passable for occasional use.
