Hi. Try the Digitech Bass Synth Wah.

Great env filter and octave pedal. $70 or so new. Look for a used one in Talkbass.

Have it. Has a very large range of sounds. BUT, no level control, so if not careful, and you kick it in, you can get a giant gain burst and melt faces off peeps. Sometimes that's not that bad. :D

I run a compressor on the back side of it and helps level it out.

Try the Electro-harmonix Q-TRON ; if it's too pricy you can find some used on e-bay. For me it's THE funk effect (but it's just me).

For $110, Snarling Dogs makes a Bootzilla Fuzz/Wah for Bass that is extremely funky. Get the Electro-Harmonix micro Q-tron for $60 and you've got the entire setup of fuzz, wah, and envelope.

The EH Bassballs is also fun...its definitely funky! Some people hate 'em, but it sounds good to me!

...but I'm looking for a Q-tron as well!

I've also discovered that I can use my standard-issue Crybaby GCB-95 (for guitar) with my Sterling, as its EQ and my amp EQ are powerful enough to put back most of the low end that the pedal sucks out...not recommended for other basses, though! If you've got a guitar wah lying around, give it a shot!
