Hey EBMM community,
Kyle here--first time EBMM owner as of late last week. Lurked here for a bit while I was doing research. Had heard about how great the necks and build quality are with EBMM for some time, so I finally took the plunge with a new Luke 3 in Bodhi Blue, as pictured here below.
Like many of you, I'm sure, I've owned just about everything. Was thinking about taking the plunge seriously when I saw that the Luke 4s (specifically the HSS Steamroller) dropped in September. Of course, you all know that those sold out in a flash, so me coming around for that in mid-October was far too late. I also would soon realize that there were also few new/near new Luke 3 HSSs around either. Thankfully, I was able to find a pair at Willcutt Guitars and went with the Bodhi.
Huge shoutout to our friend Pete DuBaldo. I saw Pete being helpful to others on here during my lurking phase, and so I rudely interrupted him over the phone at the shop two weeks ago to pick his brain on future L4 releases given the limited run of Steamrollers. Pete--I am the hopeless guy from RI. Thank you so much again for all of your insight. I can't wait to take a trip up to your showroom later this year or early next--we will definitely do business very soon so please keep me in mind!
The L3/EBMM really was love at first play for me. I am a complete convert--I need no further convincing. Currently keeping my eyes peeled for other new/like new Luke 3 HSS/HHs around the web unless or until they do a bigger L4 release sometime next year (hopefully).
I would also definitely be interested in getting a different model EBMM is there is a style that has a similar neck to the Luke? Any folks have thoughts on that? Along those lines, I messaged the EBMM team via the website today to see if there was maybe a Ball Family Reserve release coming up that I could grab something from that--so far I think I am partial to the StingRay or Valentines--and the EBMM repr said that it is looking like early 2024 for the next BFR batch.
In any event, I wanted to comply with the "pics or it didn't happen" rule for sure. I sincerely appreciate the welcoming community here--I learned a ton just by going through the old threads, and I look forward to getting to know more about you and more about EBMM going forward.
Cheers from Rhode Island,
