Hey!

I'm curious, how many personalized one-offs has been made of the John Petrucci signature model?
With that I mean, how many have been able to order a "one-of-a-kind" setup?

I know Misha from Periphery was able to get that beautiful guitar with a Koa top and Cherry Burst Veneer.
I also know the guitarist from Born Of Osiris was able to get the white JPXI7 with Rosewood neck and golden hardware.

But other than that, I know of none.
Anyone else know of anyone? Famous or less-famous, doesn't matter :)

Do you have to be famous to get a customized guitar built from EBMM or just gotta have the cash?

Chelsea Grin has a LOT of specialized JP7s. Some super nice works of art in that bunch, for sure.

I would love to see a white may be white sparkle JPXI, ebony fretboard like the original, but with black hardware. Just seeing that would be a dream come true (even a photoshoped pic haha). I remember, on FB I think, I saw a couple pictures of some lucky guys with their costume JP7, BFR, JPX (not sure), JPXI, etc. They were awesome !!! That would be cool to get more options when we order a JP EBMM, like colors, hardware, neck wood.

Jason Richardson has a bunch. When he went to Born of Osiris Lee McKinney got a few as well and now that he is in Chelsea Grin their other guitarist has got a few as well. Wherever Jason goes bad ass 7 string BFR's appear.

There is a hardtail BFR JP7 out there in either tobacco or walnut burst if I remember correctly. Nationally touring band that I can't remember the name of.

Was it not possible to get a Tobacco Burst or Walnut Burst in JP7 setup? Or what I'm trying to say is; How is that special? Maybe I'm missing something :D

I seem to remember it's the band 'In This Moment'.

I love them. I'll check it out!

You have to be endorsed.

Gotta be endorsed. If it was just about having the cash, a bunch of lucky folks around here would have all sorts of cool axes!

But I doubt all endorsed people get a personalized guitar though. There must be a lot of people out there who are endorsed by EB as well as MM and I doubt that many people have their own personalized guitar. So I think it's still reserved for the "higher players".

Will check it out!

I actually don't think that we need more options. That would kind of be boring if everyone went around with different setups. Plus it would be really difficult for EBMM to "mass"produce that many types of guitars when only a few will order a guitar in a certain setup. And also it kind of takes away the glory and "coolness" from those lucky few who actually gets a personalized guitar.

Haha! Let's hope he comes here then :D
I'll check him out.

Cheers guys :)

Jason Richardson and Chelsea Grins colletion is pretty astounding. Jason prefers rosewood necks, so many of his are rosewood, aside from a JPX and a few others.

Some pics! Woohoo

Oh, missed that!
What would be the difference in having that compared to regular JP model? Sound-wise, play-wise, etc?

I was lucky enough to convince S.Ball to build me a JP7 F1 BFR in Tobacco Burst quilt.

It's not a custom, but rather a special build you might say.

The thread has been deleted, but..
I was asking other members in here if I were the only one thinking the quilt had a very special look in all those light colors.. such as bahama blue, tobacco and all that. I had noticed all of them had been discontinued, so I guess my msg was some kind of a "wish" for future productions. That somehow maybe I was lucky enough to see them in prod. again...

I wrote in the msg. that I would be patient and wait for a used tobacco quilt, rather than buying one in a darker finish.
BP joined the conversation, and told me he'd build it for me, if I ordered it..
And god bless the man.. He actually did!
The guitar has been shipped, and I will have her home shortly.

BP made my day just before christmas I think it was..

I am very greatful, and this will be "one of a kind" for me, and a very special guitar.
And best of all, a brand new one, so I can set her in myself.

God bless BP (Mr. Sterling Ball) and his team.
I take this as a favor of dimensions, and I feel very honored!

I will surley post pictures of her, when she arrives!

thank you again father poppa!

Awesome Norstorm! Once again BP makes himself known as a great MM-loving guy. I'm not an expert, but except for PRS, I don't know any CEO of any company who is so in touch with the guitars, let alone the fanbase. And crazy enough; it makes me want to buy this stuff even more..

Wow, that is surely awesome! Not personalized in the way I meant when creating this thread but definitely awesome of them to do that for you! :)

The one he's holding in his left hand. The headstock wood almost looks different than rosewood... Anyone know if it isn't? Zebrawood? Something else?
