Just trying to get a little petition going here...I absolutely love the Not Even Slinky set...with one exception. The G-string (24 gauge) resonates very oddly, having an almost dull tone. I have multiple guitars strung with this set, in multiple tunings, and this string is always the oddball-sounding one of the bunch.
This is a petition to try and get Ernie Ball to switch from the plain 24 gauge string to a wound 24 gauge string for their Not Even Slinky set. While more difficult to bend, a wound 24 completely eliminates the dull resonance experienced with the plain 24.
I have talked to several other guitarists both in person and online, and all who have used the Not Even Slinky set agree that the 24 gauge string is the bastard of the bunch.
If you use this set and agree with the issues regarding the plain 24 gauge string, please let your voice be heard by replying! Ernie Ball is a great company who listens to their customers' demands, so it's up to us consumers to let 'em know when something doesn't sound quite right!
