Pretty funny, I thought no one could sing that worse than I. I wouldn't have even believed it was JP until I heard who was so obviously Mr. Portnoy at the end there.

It's quite encouraging to find out that there's something he can't do!

This is from the 'Making of SFAM' CD from the Dream Theater Official Bootleg Series. This CD also features some top yodelling on the end of 'Strange Deja Vu' from DT 'real' vocalist James LaBrie.

Most entertaining!:D

Ha ha! There's hope for the rest of us. My singing improved after I got better at guitar. I could hear how in tune I was better than before.

For a guy that (IMO) sings pretty mean backup vocals, that was pretty hilarious.

I got that CD when they were on tour.
The Making of Scenes from a Memory.

That's my favourite track though :D

So everyone's sure it's really JP?

Yup, this is from the CD inlay card.

"13. John's vocal melody demo/sketch for James to learn is an example of the man's terrific power, versatility and range and actually sparked an impromptu duet with my trusty companion in the studio that day, Bongo Portnoy.":D
