I want to run my rig so that I have a distorted signal mixed with a clean piezo sound. I'm having some problems interpreting the schematic. If I use the "Magnetic/stereo output" with a TRS cable does that mean that when I use the "mode switch" to BOTH that there will be a mix of the two signals? It states this but then there is a note that mentions that the mix pot is disabled when this output is used.
How would you mix these signals?
Would I have to connect a mono cable up to both outputs and then run them seperately and mix them seperately so I could use the "mix, treble, bass" option on the back of the guitar for the piezo? I would rather use just one cable to my rig for simplicity but if there is no other way then owell. I'm hoping I can just use the TRS cable from the magnetic output and then use the switch to change the pickups so that you would either hear just magnetic pickups or BOTH signals.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm going to Mars music after work for a cable if this will help otherwise I don't want to spend the cash on something that won't help me.
Ok I just hooked my guitar up with two mono cables to get the signal to work for both situations. I did it this way.
Piezo out to Mesa Boogie 2:90 channel A input, output to Marshall 2x12 cab.
Magnetic out to Korg Tuner, to Mesa Boogie Triaxis, to TC Electronics G Major (mono), to 482 BBE Sonic Maximizer to Ebtech Hum eliminator to Mesa Boogie 2:90 Channel B input, output to Mesa Boogie 4x12 cab.
Its strange. Through my clean patch it works just fine, I get a nice mix of my clean channel with the piezo. Very nice sounding I might add. However, when I turn on my distortion patch things go haywire. The piezo still works fine, but the distortion channel is just full of noise when you stop playing. I turned things down on the guitar and no help. Its pretty raunchy actually.
Is my main problem just the TRS Stereo cable to work the electronics in the guitar right. I'm really looking forward to this mix, I probably will only have it for one song or so but its a nice addition.
Please anythoughts?
later on.
