Has anyone got experience of both JP's and Axis's?

How does the neck of a JP feel in comparison? It looks quite a bit differant, 15" radius isnt it compared to the 10" of the Axis?
How does the tone compare?

They look (JP's) like promising guitars, but if the neck is so much different to the Axis that would be a big turn off for me. :o

Rather than have us tell you how great it is.....seek one out and play it. Not trying to be coy here but the only way you'll know if it's right for you.....is if you put one in hand....then what happens is you buy two more ;) ...

Good luck dude!

I would try one myself if I didnt have to travel to the moon for the honour! :D

Theyre damn rare in the UK.

I find the Axis neck to very different from the JP neck. The JP neck is similar to an Ibanez RG or ESP MII type neck approx. 19mm thick @ 1st fret. I believe its slightly asymetrical but its not nearly as thick as the Axis neck. It also feels a little wider than the Axis neck which the flatter radius adds to. I would describe the JP neck shape as ( and the Axis neck as C.

My JP is pretty dark sounding which is the exact sound I want. To me the Axis sounds a little brighter. I actually prefer the Axis neck over the JP but once you get used to the JP neck its an awesome guitar.

^^^^ what he said.

I prefer the Axis in tone and feel to the JP... however I LOVE them both!

As was said, the Axis neck is a fair bit more chunkier thent the jp, the jp barely feels likes it's there.... both are awseom, just comes down to what you like there.

Cheers guys

Well whenever I pick up my Jackson now, the neck feels terrible, pobably quite similar in feel to the JP?! To think I used them for 10 years as happy as larry :D Ill probably give the JP's a miss for now ;)

I actually find the Jackson Soloists to have slightly thicker necks than the JP. If the JP is not for you, take a look at the Luke. I have heard that the neck is thicker, although I have never had the opportunity to play one so I cannot give a definate confirmation.

No, the JP is MUCH thinner then a Jackson neck. As was said before, the JP model feels more like an Ibanez Wizard neck. Extreemely thin is the neck.

The Jackson neck is more flat and a little wider feel then an Axis. The JP is more flat and thinner then the Axis if that's what you're using to compare.
