Hi guys,

I'm after finding out if it would be cheaper to get a new neck for my petrucci and have it sent to true temperament to be fretted rather than have them replace my fingerboard and carry out the work as the latter is much more labour and seems to be more expensive on the face of it.

Does anyone know how you go about and how much a replacement maple neck with rosewood fingerboard is for the petrucci??? would need to have the frets uncut so like blank neck just with the headstock painted.

Any help would be great!!!

If you need a neck replacement, usually, you need to send the guitar back to EBMM and they do the neck replacement. But it is a one for one match. If you had a RW fret board with a maple backing (standard JP neck), you get the same thing man.

Hope this helps, Glenn |B)

I see you're in England. I'd give Strings & Things a call as they're the distributor for your country.

As has been said ... you can't buy a spare neck. If you needed a replacement, you'd have to send the old one back. Same goes for any MM parts that are proprietary.

True Temperament? Cool.

Yup. There was a quote from him about them "Ahead of their time" or something like that. I'll try and find it...

Aside from his normal BFR guitars, John also belongs to the players praising the concept of True Temperament.
- "I have a BFR with True Temperament on it, and they're really ahead of their time. It's really cool!", he certifies.
