I have a used Petrucci guitar with piezo, bought it on ebay a while back. When I plug a regular guitar chord into the stereo input (the lower one) I only get the regular pickups to give sound. They'll sound the same if I have the upper pickup selector in the lower and middle position but no sound in the upper position.

If I plug the regular guitar chord into the upper input jack the piezo pickups work if I have the upper toggle in the upper position and both the piezo and regular pickups in the middle position. If I put it on the lower position I get no sound.

Does this sound right or could a previous owner have switched wiring somehow on the guitar? I thought the lower input jack was supposed to have both regular and piezo pickups working together but I may be mistaken.

Yours is correct.

The bottom jack is mags ONLY if you plug in a mono cable, if you plug in a stereo cable, the tip is mags, the ring is piezo, for you to split via a box or volume pedal later.

The top jack is either a blend of both signals (which is not very useful IMO) or piezo only, if you have two mono cables plugged in (top mono cable to your piezo amp, bottom mono cable to your regular amp)
