I'm new to this, so hello everyone. I just got a JP6 a couple weeks ago, and I'm having a few issues. I tried to find the answer before posting a thread, so sorry if I'm annoying anyone. I'm having some tuning problems, so I guess I will try some nut sauce for that. It's mainly with heavier tremolo use or string bending. Any thoughts if it's not the nut?

The main reason for the thread is because I am having pitch problems when I do the "pedal steel" type bends, and unison bends. Everytime I bend up, the tremolo is causing the string I'm not bending to change pitch.
I was just wondering if there was something I could do to the tremolo so it doesn't pull during string bends...the only thing I've tried is adding more springs.
Any help is apprectiated. Thanks!

This is one of the quirks of a "floating" tremolo, and there's really no way to stop it other than blocking the trem.

Yup. Any floating bridge will do this. If you watch the bridge plate, when you bend a string the plate is pulled forward like when you push down on the trem arm. So therefore the other strings will go flat while you bend another string.

However, all is not lost......check this out:

Hey, thanks so much everybody! I heard about the tremol-no...I just didn't read into it because it sounded like it would just turn a tremolo into a fixed bridge, which I wasn't interested in. By the way, mine is Graphite Pearl as well...it's genius to play.

Oops, I don't have a camera : /
Just picture an awesome looking guitar...minus the shield inlays. I have one more question if it's ok. Do the two screws on the bridge just lower the action, or would that tighten the tremolo, and possibly help the problem? I tightened those on my strat and the bridge sits pretty tight now...I know the Petrucci trem is a bit different though. Thanks again...

I had the exact same problems with my JP6 that you are having. String lube will help, I use Big Bends Nut Sauce, but it didn't get rid of the problem completely in my case. It was the G, B, and high E strings that would bind up after string bends or trem use. The low E, A, and D strings would stay in tune. A couple of weeks ago, I had a local guitar tech, who I have quite a bit of trust in, install an Earvana compensated nut on my JP. I still put some of the nut sauce in the string slots, but the binding has gone away, and chords sound better now too. :) I'm not saying that you will have to have a new nut installed on your JP, any good string lube remedy may completely solve your problem. Just stating my experience with the same problems that you seem to be having.

Should just lower it. Once the baseplate is level, it's all about the saddles for lower action.
