The BFR has a push pull so that the middle position can act as either both hums in full or a single coil from each. the standard JP's middle position is a single coil from each pickups.
thanks, well i tried the jp at a store and really liked it, but didnot check about single coil possibilities (independent). having a single coil at the neck will make this guitar perfect

I am getting ready to install a set of Duncan Distortion pups in my non piezo jp6. I'm going to coil tap the neck pup. Customer service at SD suggested that I install at set of TB (trembucker) pups rather than an SH (traditional humbucker) due to the wider pole spacing on the TB model to compensate for the wider string spacing of the tremolo bridge. I cut out a template of the Distortion TB using the manufacturer's dimensions from the website and it appears that I will have to at least snip the corners of the mounting bracket in order for the TB to fit. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and if they have any good advice? Thank You,
I've got split coil tones on my standard JP via a push/pull pot. Love the added tones I can get! I have all humbucking tones when the tone pot is pushed (including both hums on like the BFR in middle position) and all single coil tones when pulled (with the stock middle position still intact).
