So my band played a gig last night in SF and it just so happened that Steve Barr was in town and came to check us out :)

The gig went "ok". The people at the venue was pretty shady - they cut our guestlist by 8 people right when we got there but I did manage to get Steve (+1) in. The promise of "free drinks for band members" was retracted - they even charged me full price for a diet coke. Then, just to be shadier, the folks at the venue asked Steve if he'd like the "option to pay anyway". WTF?? I'm not trying to be whiny, but its lame to be flat out screwed with. I dont care about paying for my diet coke - i can fork over $2, no problem - but just dont lie to me; that's lame!

So, we were pretty peeved but went on and played our asses off anyway. Steve will be around shortly im sure with an "audience member's veiw" and a few pics; you can see my Blue Dawn Sterling in action :)

Shady venue or not - i had fun. Met a lot of folks, hung out with freinds, played loud music ... good times :)

Again, Steve, thanks for coming out buddy! It was great hangin with you again.

That sucks that they pulled a bait 'n switch on you like that. Cool that you made the most of it, and had a good time, though.

Hey Duckk~

What venue was it you played at? I'll make sure I avoid them like the plague...and I'll spread the word among my contacts.

Pretty tired of getting d!cked by these clubs...

Hey Phat,

If Steve is still in town, why don't both of you come on over to the St. James Gate in Belmont tonight (jam night), we can do some "forumite" jammin'.

Shamus63 will be there on bass as well. And, if I'm not mistaken, I believe a couple other local forumites are coming to.

Gee, we can call this the Northern California reunion EBMM open house jam!!!! :D

They made you pay for a Diet Coke!?!

Down here in the south we’d give them a southern exorcism, (take them outside and beat the devil out of them). :D

I’m glad you and the Dude hooked up; it’s always fun to hang with a fellow forumite.

Nice Sterling!!! I dig the natural Ray also, do you still have it ?

yup, i still have the natural ray. i got it a year ago and it just couldnt dethrown the Sterling as my #1, so its a year old with less than 50 hours of play on it :(

i might sell it and buy another Sterling to replace it. so if that happens ill have 3 sterlings when my HS gets in :) WOOT!

the black p bass might go soon too. it plays great, but i never, ever use it especially now that my frankenstein is in playing shape. id ditch the trans-orange jazz too but its pretty so i think im gonna keep it around.

The Black Tele style P-Bass in the middle.I wasn't sure if it was a Dirnt, Model T or something else....

oh my bad dude. na, thats my first bass ever. its around 12 or 13 years old now ... it was an Epiphone but ive just recently replaced every single part on it except for the body. so its my trusty frankenstein
