I was under the impression that slapping wore string's faster, but recently i joined a new band and i use only a pickand it seem's my strings are dying quicker...

Can anyone clarify this for me, maybe im picking to hard?

Cheers

Maybe, or are you just playing more now than you did before? I never noticed technique affecting the life of my strings, just the amount of hours I put on them and how much I sweat on them. I'm an acidic guy, apparently.

Groovenstein has got a point, I slap and pop all the time and I usually break my G string before I start to lose any tone. The more you play to more wear you subject your strings too, which will affect the strings at varying speeds.
