Hey everyone over the years of playing I have gotten the usual guitar player ailments like carpal tunnel and pain in the elbow stuff like that. I know over the years some of you have said you had some of the pains.
Anyway my right elbow has been in pain and my first and middle fingers going numb at times and I have been having a tougher time holding on to picks. So a guitar teacher friend of mine suggested I try one of the big triangle picks having more to hold on to. i bought a pack of the .88 ultex trianlge picks . Anyone else here use big picks like this ?

I have been using them for a couple of days and so far its been a little better having more surface to hold on to. It took a bit to get used to but it seems I can still play like i did with the smaller picks. My hand and elbow didnt seem to be in as much pain, so maybe this experiment will work. who knows I guess I'll now in a few weeks and after a few practices.
Hey at least if I change I'll have three points on one pick.

I don't have any injuries (thankfully), but these have been my go to for a while now:

Small Pointed Lite Emerald Green - Guitar Picks

And here's the full line-up:

All Picks - Guitar Mandolin Bass Dulcimer Signature Series

If you're willing to spend a little for picks these are fantastic, I have no tension at all in my picking fingers/hand/elbow using these where I used to tense a lot with dunlop jazz and tortex picks.
thanks I'll look into them but I don't think I can use ones that are to small. Im gonna see how the triangle ultex one goes tonight at practice.

I've used the triangle picks at times, and for a while I was totally into all picks made from ultex. I think you get used to and adapt to whatever you use, so if you find more comfort, go with them.

These days I have come back full circle and concluded that my preferred tone comes from a standard sized celluloid pick and I am back to using my old standby: Ernie Ball H picks, and occasionally Ernie Ball Ms. Simple, economical, comfortable, not too bright, not too dull, and I can pick fastest with them.

Best wishes selecting your pick!

Yup....the medium pointed Vpicks are all I've used for years now. Just the right size (for me..), easy the hold onto and 6 points to pick with. Last a very long time...
