So I'm about to receive this Rolls Burgundy Bongo 5 from bassplyr. The stark white pickguard isn't going to be flashy enough for me, I can already tell. What goes with Rolls Burgundy? I can't formulate an answer! Help!

Tort! I think Aussie Mark put one on his Rolls Burgundy Bongo. Mighty nice!

White Pearloid or White Ice. If you want to go with something nonstandard, I kinda think a cream guard would look cool. Most darker pickguards look like vomit on Rolls Burgundy. It is such a cool color, but it doesn't look well with a lot of pickguards.

White Ice was the original partner to Rolls Burgundy when it was first released, it's quite the stunning combination- very ritzy and glamorous. Great for weddings and black tie gigs. White Pearl is also another classic combination that would look great. (I guess I'm saying stay in the white family)

Personally I prefer the high contrast color combinations, dark bass/light pickguard or vice versa, because the lines of the pickguard are a huge part of the instrument's character. A dark guard on a dark bass just gets lost and takes away some of the style of the instrument.

There's my .02...

I really think the coolest PG color for a black bass is the reddish torty, so for a reddish bass I'd want something like black torty. There's a black [or is it 'smoke'] pearl that would do it for me.

Call me picky, I dont care. The reason I prefer the white pearloid over the white ice is because the white pearloid has the outer lines of a 3 ply(w/b/w), and the white ice, apprears to be one ply. Really only noticable up close, but thats just what I prefer.

I have White Pearloid on mine but I always thought the Python guard would look the best.

For the RB, I'm stuck between White Pearloid and Tort, but I think the Tort would add a touch more class to an already classy bass finish.
