I really wish I had a pickguard for my axis super sport, can I find one anywhere? And Is there anyway to protect the humbuckers, they seem so exposed, with the black ribbon showing and the top just sitting on it with no support or protection, i want to rock out hardcore, but i'm scared!!! Advise? Experience? Anyone have anything to add to this or anything to make me feel better? Thanks...gary

you can order one from chandler that will fit, but why would you wanna do that and cover up the finsih of the body, the guitar looks better without a pickguard IMO, and dont worry about the bukcers, they will be fine as long as you dont slam your pick into them all night or pour beer all over them -

I've got a picture of an Axis with a pickguard from the "Guitar Buyer's Guide 1998-1999" and it actually looks kinda cool, imho - that's an Axis proper, with Floyd, not a Sport or a Super Sport... Anyway, we know EB/MM made them once - I'd start by contacting them to see if they have any more of the original pickguards left lying around.

I believe the original axis with a pickguard only came in black - or solid colors for that matter -
