I'm not really into the SUB 5 diamond-plate pickguard. Anyone know where I can get a replacement (I'm thinking single-ply matte black) that is actually in stock and doesn't have to be custom cut (it takes 3 to 4 weeks at the place I have emailed). I'd kind of like to get one sooner. Anyone???

You can order them direct from EB... they do have a few in stock although I had to wait a week or so for the abalone guard that I ordered... plus you have the reassurance of knowing it will fit and is top quality.

That's assuming EB still HAVE SUB5 pickguards, seeing as the SUBs are now discontinued and the plates are different from the SR5 ones. I would like to get hold of a SUB5 myself, but I'd also want to change the guard and so was also wondering how difficult this would be seeing as I haven't seen a lot of SUB5s around and therefore it's likely replacement pickguards could be pretty rare. Custom may be the only option.
