I want a different pickguard for my Blue Pearl Bongo 6HH. It has a black guard. I can't decided between black pearl, white, or white pearl. Help me spend my money.

Any pics of Blue Pearl Bongos with these colors? I might be leaning toward white

In time-honored knucklehead tradition, I will herewith provide an answer that wasn't on the poll.

Abalone.

I fondled one once. It killed.

EBMM doesn't make abalone anymore, but the aftermarket folks do.

Failing that, white pearl. As a rule of thumb, I believe a pickguard should contrast with the bass, to accentuate its lines. Dark bass, light guard. This is particularly true of the Bongo, with all its sexay curves.

Right-on AD! It also goes well with Dargie Green... :)

Never thought of abalone. Too bad the answer can't be "one of every color" because that would be my first choice lol

It can be 'one of every colour! I've just figured out this great way to make any pickguard youcould possibly want! I'll show you how soon as I can get some pics.

This sounds interesting. I've never really been one to care about pickguard colors until recently when I realized it can really change the "mood" of the instrument!

I like plain white on blue for an understated look with maximum contrast.

This! Not sure if I'm digging the abalone personally, looks great on the other Bongos. Contrary to popular poll results I think I'm liking this option best. Since switching to all-EBMM, I think I'll pay tribute to my first good childhood bass, my blue 4003 with white guard. It wasn't an EBMM, but it was the stepping stone that got me here.

Also: I just sold my old rig and ordered a new one, so pics to come of both. I'm pumped!

white pearl is classic and classy. If you're going for more brash, flash and color, well then yes, abalone, moonstone, tort, clear with paisley or some of Jack's robots, all make great alternative choices.
