I just received my bitching new ebmm Rosewood Necked Silhouette. The clean tones are stellar, but I am hoping to find a more powerful sound out of the bridge position. The first thing I will be doing is switching to 500k pots like I did to give my Y2D more umph.

Now for the questions: Is there a way to change the pots for the bridge pickup without affecting the tone of the other pickups too much? maybe keep the tone knob 250k but unwire the bridge from the tone knob?

If switching to 500k pots doesn't give my bridge the wail I am looking for, what pickups might the EBMM community recommend for a ripping and wailing classic metal tone? I'm thinking along the lines of Savatage, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, or Van Halen.

Great looking guitar. Congrats!

Ripping classic metal tone? DiMarzio Super Distortion would be my first choice.

Also, how do I get my pictures to be full sized?

Hi, when you right click on a pic to copy the properties, be sure to do so on an enlarged photo rather than from a field of thumbnails.

Beautiful Silo! Oh, and regarding an 80's tone, I believe there is a pair of Axis pickups in the for sale thread here.

Super distortion is a great choice for that sound but I just put a transition in the bridge of my silo spec, sounds fantastic, will sound better clean than SD, its the pup in the luke III if you haven't heard it yet....

I had the Duncan distortion in one of my guitars and that guitar sounded pretty bad. Anyone know of a significant difference between the Duncan Distortion and the Super Distortion?

Suhr pickups are really awesome! I had a DSH+ in my Y2D. Probably the best all around pickup I have had the pleasure of playing. Very articulate, warm, punchy and cut through perfectly. Perfect for metal, fusion, rock..whatever.
