Pickup Angle

Dumb n00b question here, but what is the purpose of angling the pickups like on the Silo SSS?

I believe there can be false harmonic issues on the higher frets if the low/bass strings are too close to the pickup, so tilting the pickup eliminates that problem. I run my pickups a little on the low side, so I haven't experienced that problem.
