Pickup Fuzz?

I am getting major pickup fuzz like I'm playing through a cranked distortion pedal. It's not my amp because my other bass is fine through it. Also when I play higher up near my S pickup its not as bad butt when I play near the bridge on my H pickup it sounds BAD. I'm pretty worried.

Bass is a Bongo 6 HS.

Anyone have any idea what this could be... or if it is just a fault in the pickup or in the wiring connection?

New battery's are never a bad thing in times of doubt

Customer Service phone line is not working today... cause its monday after new years. Also the email thing is screwed up for me for some reason.

Batteries aren't the problem I don't think I just recently put in new batteries. But I'll put newer batteries in it just in case.

EDIT: Wow so it was just the batteries... I guess I bought some faulty batteries because the other 2 in the box didn't work at all... So I searched for other batteries in my house and they worked fine...

Is it bad for the bass if I play using the "distortion batteries?" They could be handy for playing songs with lots of distortion, eg. Hysteria by Muse.

Bit like trying to drive with four flat tires, simple solution, put some air in them.
Leaving dead battery's in your bass is not good, for a start if they are dead then the next thing there going to do is leak.
Secondly the bongo runs on 18v for a reason
