I've recently noticed a humming noise coming from my amp (only when my music man is plugged into it) The noise stops whenever I touch something metal on the bass, like the pots for example. Im guessing its an earthing issue? Any ideas. If it helps, it seems to be louder when the treble pot is at max.

i think you have a few options to correct the problem.

1. you could use the search funtion and see if there is a topic about this that was already posted. i would suggest looking for something with the word "ground" or "grounding" in it.

2. Wait for jon to stroll by and see what he thinks.

3. find a wiring diagram from Gavin and check to make sure everything is hooked up right on the inside and check to see if all the solfer joints are good.

Also make sure that the lead you use to plug into the mains has an earth/ground wire & it's not loose.

And it could (sometimes) be the actual weiring of the place you're playing in.......
