So I'm enjoying my HH Ray immensely..
Question though, I read the pickups are 2 conductor.. How does that work? How do you manage to split the coils with the 5 way switch, I thought that would require 4 conductor pickups?

Just a curious mind..

They are 3 conductor, hot for each coil per pickup and a common ground.

See thats what I THOUGHT would be the case, thanks for confirming it!

Gets me thinking.. convert my HH to a H with a 3 way switch for Humbucker, split and.. well.. I dunno, what else could I do?

(don't worry.. nothing irreversible there, just 4 or so solder dabs ;) and a new pickguard!)

Why don't You try what my friend did?

He bought SR5 HH, and after some time he realized that needs only bridge pickup and missing bridge single coils ...etc. , but he's in love with this bass and did as follows:

Removed the original (black) pickguard, screw neck humbacker all the way down, installed aftermarket single H pickguard and modified switch lever (not at the same position), so now is neck H hidden under the PG and actually works like two hum canceling coils!

It works pretty good, he has now three very useful switch positions, 1, 2 and 4, where 1 is bridge H, 2 is one coil of bridge H (I forgot which one) and 4 is another coil of bridge H!

Here is the picture of this bass (it was recently here in another thrade):

By the way, this is probably dirtiest maple fret board in the world! :D
